CM Murad Ali Shah, Ethiopian ambassador, discuss bilateral relations, trade cooperation
Posted on: 02 Jul 2025 Tags:Karachi, July 2, 2025: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met with Ethiopian Ambassador Dr. Jamal Baker Abdullah at the CM House and discussed strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing trade cooperation between Sindh, Pakistan, and Ethiopia.
Secretary to CM Zaman Narejo and Ethiopia’s Honorary Consul General Ibrahim Khalid Tawab also participated in the meeting.
The Ethiopian ambassador praised the Sindh government’s post-flood rehabilitation efforts, highlighting the swift and effective measures taken under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
Dr Jamal also expressed appreciation for the development of Shahrah-e-Bhutto in Karachi, recognising its importance as a major artery that will play a key role in facilitating port traffic.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah thanked friendly countries and donor agencies for their support in the flood relief and rehabilitation process. Both sides agreed to collaborate on cotton hybrid seed development, signalling a step forward in agricultural cooperation.
The meeting also acknowledged Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s diplomatic visits, with the Ethiopian ambassador extending an invitation to the Sindh CM to visit Ethiopia. The chief minister welcomed the invitation, noting that Ethiopia is just a four-hour flight from Karachi and expressing his intention to visit soon.
