KARACHI / SUKKUR (Sept 20): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has strongly condemned the gruesome incident in Rohri, Sukkur, where a camel was brutally attacked and its leg amputated by three assailants.

Terming the act of animal cruelty as “intolerable,” the Chief Minister directed Sukkur police to arrest the perpetrators and ensure exemplary punishment immediately.

Following his directives, Sukkur police launched an intensive operation and successfully apprehended two of the three accused. The first suspect, Qurban Brohi, was arrested earlier today, while police later detained the second accused, Rasool Bux Sheikh, after a raid carried out by SHO Kandhra on a tip-off. Raids are underway in different areas to trace and arrest the third-nominated suspect.

Meanwhile, the injured camel is under veterinary treatment in Rohri, supervised by District Council Chairman Syed Kamil Shah, who has already submitted a detailed report to the Chief Minister. The Sindh government has assured that the animal will receive the best possible medical care, including transfer to Karachi for specialised treatment if required.

Muhammad Amin, the camel’s owner, expressed gratitude to the Sindh government, CM Murad Ali Shah, and Chairman Kamil Shah for their immediate support and efforts to save the animal.

The chief minister reiterated that such acts of cruelty will not be tolerated in Sindh and those responsible wills face the full force of the law.

He emphasised that maintaining a clean environment is a shared responsibility and noted that protecting Sindh’s coastal belt from pollution remains a top priority for the government. “Marine pollution poses a major threat to our world,” the chief minister said, adding that keeping Karachi and other coastal cities clean has global importance.
Chief Minister Shah underscored that a clean and healthy environment cannot be achieved without public cooperation. “A clean environment is essential for a healthy life,” he stated.

He urged citizens to join hands in ridding their cities and villages of waste, and appealed for active participation in plantation drives and the reduction of litter. “We reiterate our pledge to make Sindh greener and healthier,” Syed Murad Ali Shah concluded.
