KARACHI (June 19): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah described Abdullah Shah Ghazi as a radiant symbol of spirituality and emphasised that the teachings of Sufi saints encourage humanity, brotherhood, and service to others.
“The shrine offers every visitor respect, peace, and blessings. The message of love and tolerance from the Sufi tradition continues to serve as a guiding light for society today.”
This was stated while addressing the media just after paying a visit to the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, where he participated in the closing rituals of the three-day Urs celebration. Upon arrival, the Chief Minister, accompanied by Minister Zakat & Auqaf Riaz Shah Shirazi, was warmly received by Secretary Zakat Mureed Rahimoo and other senior officers. During the ceremony, Murad Ali Shah offered prayers, laid a ceremonial cloth (chadar), and distributed clothes among the needy present at the shrine.
Murad Shah hailed Abdullah Shah Ghazi as a shining beacon of Sindh’s spirituality and emphasised that the teachings of Sufi saints promote humanity, brotherhood, and service to mankind. He remarked that the shrine provides every visitor with respect, peace, and blessings, and that the message of love and tolerance from the Sufi tradition remains a guiding light for society today.
The Sindh government has ensured comprehensive arrangements for the comfort and convenience of the pilgrims attending the Urs. Minister Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi briefed the Chief Minister on the management and facilities provided during the event. The Chief Minister also appreciated the efforts made to preserve and promote the spiritual heritage of Sindh’s shrines.
Murad Ali Shah prayed for the nation’s security, progress, and prosperity and urged the public to follow the noble path laid down by the Sufi saints. He also highlighted the importance of unity and tolerance in today’s world, reflecting the enduring legacy of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and other spiritual luminaries of Sindh.
The Urs commemorates the 1295th anniversary of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi, a revered figure known for his bravery and dedication to Islam, who is also a descendant of Imam Hassan (RA). The event attracted thousands of devotees from across the region, marking a significant spiritual occasion in Sindh’s cultural calendar.
Q&A: Responding to a question, the CM said, “The opposition’s job is to criticise, and I never take it personally. However, criticism should not be an excuse for rudeness or disrespectful behaviour. We must always maintain mutual respect.” He added that the opposition should also care for the Sufis of Sindh, as they represent our culture and traditions. Their teachings promote brotherhood and love among us.”
To a question, Mr Shah said that by the grace of Allah, he has been serving as Chief Minister for a long time and has worked diligently for the development of Sindh.”
To a question regarding India’s aggression, the Chief Minister said that “India launched an unprovoked attack on Pakistan, but within a few days, India realised the consequences. When the entire nation stands behind its armed forces, oppressors inevitably face their fate.” He added that when everyone plays their part, success is certain. This spirit has guided us in protecting our country.”
Murad Shah said that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto presented Pakistan’s stance effectively in the international media, after which the government sent him to lead a diplomatic delegation. “Due to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s diplomacy, the world’s perspective on Pakistan has changed, which is a matter of great pride for us,” he said.
Talking about the meeting between Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump, Murad Shah said that it has also yielded positive results, strengthening Pakistan’s foreign policy.”
The CM announced that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will arrive in Karachi tomorrow, and he will be given a grand welcome. “I urge all Pakistanis who love their country to come to the airport and greet him because of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, the world’s viewpoint about Pakistan has truly transformed, and we are proud of him.”
