CM Murad Ali Shah reviews arrangements for Eid Milad-un-Nabi

KARACHI (Aug 27): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a high-level meeting to finalise security, cleanliness, and power supply arrangements for the upcoming Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabiul Awal).

 

The meeting, held at CM House, was attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Riaz Shah Shirazi, Senator Waqar Mehdi, and Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab. Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Home Secretary Iqbal Memon, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, representatives of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), and K-Electric also participated. Through a video link, all divisional commissioners and DIGs joined the session. A large number of religious scholars, including Haji Hanif Tayyab, Mufti Nazeer Jan, Dr Sahibzada Fareed-ud-din Qadri, Sarwat Aijaz Qadri, Maulana Mohammad Akbar Dars, Maulana Qazi Ahmad Noorani, Allama Dr Jameel Rathore, Mufti Mohammad Qasim, Allama Ashraf Gormani, and others, also took part.

 

At the outset, the chief minister congratulated the participants on the advent of Rabiul Awal. The 1500th birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) will be observed with great reverence and devotion,” the CM said. He added that the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a source of mercy and compassion for all mankind.”

 

He directed the IG Police to ensure foolproof security arrangements across Sindh for all Rabiul Awal programmes and processions.

 

Mr Shah instructed divisional commissioners to ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation across all districts and directed immediate repair of damaged roads and drainage systems where required. He also urged K-Electric, HESCO, and SEPCO to provide an uninterrupted power supply during the celebrations through coordination with the divisional and district administrations.

 

The ulema presented various proposals for celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi with full religious fervour and in a peaceful environment. The chief minister assured them that their suggestions regarding security, sanitation, and coordination would be implemented. He also instructed the administration to remain in constant contact with religious scholars to facilitate smooth arrangements.

 

The chief minister emphasised that Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated in a befitting manner, reflecting unity, reverence, and respect.
