Sindh CM takes private sector, bankers for Independence Day celebrations
Posted on: 01 Aug 2025 Tags:KARACHI (July 28): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over an important meeting regarding the Independence Day celebrations and the “Maarka Haq” (Battle for Justice) events.
The meeting, held at CM House, was attended by presidents and CEOs of different banks, leading industrialists, and representatives of the business community. Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Minister for Local Government Saeed Ghani, Minister for Industries Jam Ikram Dharejo, Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahim Sheikh, Commissioner Karachi Hasan Naqvi, and other officials also participated.
The CM stated that this year’s Independence Day would be celebrated in a manner befitting the theme of “Maarka Haq.” He urged all bankers and prominent industrialists across the country to play their part in the celebrations.
According to the Chief Minister, government, semi-government, and private buildings will be illuminated with decorative lighting during the festivities. Rallies, parades, sports activities, events at educational institutions, talk shows, and programs in malls will be organised.
Some of the programs and their schedule are as follows:
• The Department of Culture will hold a public concert and fireworks show at the National Stadium on August 13. Cultural rallies will be taken out on August 13 at Sea View and Shahrah-e-Faisal. The Captain Sailor Shaheed Sports Gala will be organised by the Department of Sports at Gulistan-e-Johar on August 13.
• Karachi Metropolitan Corporation will arrange a concert and fireworks display at Jahangir Kothari, for which date will be announced shortly.
• The Sports Department will hold a marathon at Nishan Pakistan and Do Darya on August 10. On the same day, the Sports Department will organise a donkey cart race at Sea View.
• The Department of Fisheries will conduct a boat race at the port and Kemari on August 9.
• A Women’s Bike Rally will be held by the Department of Culture on August 13, from the city to the Chaukhandi cemetery.
• On August 3, the Sports Department will host a cycle race from the Fairview Hall to Mazar-e-Quaid.
• The Department of Culture will organise a musical and cultural show at Hyderabad Club on August 8. A musical/cultural concert will also take place at the Sukkur Municipal Stadium on August 8.
Bankers and industrialists will hold a meeting with a committee of ministers led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. During the meeting, industrialists and bankers will finalise the Independence Day programs.
All bankers and industrialists assured Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah of their full support for the Independence Day celebrations.
